Cancellation Policy

At Outrnr, we understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both guests and hosts, providing flexibility while also protecting our hosts from last-minute cancellations. This policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, refunds, and modifications to bookings made through the Outrnr platform.

1. Cancellation Tiers

We offer three cancellation tiers that hosts can choose from when listing their property. These tiers are designed to provide varying levels of flexibility:

1.1 Flexible

  • Free cancellation until 24 hours before check-in
  • If cancelled less than 24 hours before check-in, the first night is non-refundable
  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nightly rate for the nights not spent 24 hours after the official cancellation are fully refunded

1.2 Moderate

  • Free cancellation until 5 days before check-in
  • If cancelled between 5 days and 24 hours before check-in, the first night is non-refundable
  • If cancelled less than 24 hours before check-in, the first two nights are non-refundable
  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, the nightly rate for the nights not spent 48 hours after the official cancellation are fully refunded

1.3 Strict

  • Free cancellation for 48 hours after booking, if the guest books at least 14 days before check-in
  • After that, guests can cancel up to 7 days before check-in and get a 50% refund
  • If cancelled less than 7 days before check-in, no refund is provided
  • If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, no refund is provided for unused nights

2. Long-Term Reservations

For reservations of 28 nights or more:

  • The first month of the reservation is non-refundable
  • If a guest cancels before check-in, they will receive a full refund for all nights after the first month
  • If a guest cancels during their stay, they must give 30 days notice. If proper notice is given, they will receive a full refund for all nights 30 days after the cancellation date

3. Extenuating Circumstances

Outrnr recognizes that unforeseen events can occur. In cases of extenuating circumstances, we may override the host's cancellation policy and issue a full or partial refund. Extenuating circumstances may include:

  • Death of a host, guest, or immediate family member
  • Serious illness or injury
  • Natural disasters
  • Severe weather incidents
  • Government-mandated obligations
  • Endemic disease or illness that suddenly affects the region or country

Documentation may be required to confirm extenuating circumstances.

4. Host Cancellations

Hosts are strongly discouraged from cancelling confirmed reservations as it significantly inconveniences guests. If a host cancels a reservation:

  • The calendar will be blocked for those dates, preventing re-booking
  • An automated review will be posted on the host's listing, indicating that they cancelled a reservation
  • A cancellation fee may be applied
  • Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension

In cases where a host must cancel, we will assist the guest in finding alternative accommodations.

5. Refund Process

Refunds are processed automatically to the original payment method used for booking. Processing times may vary depending on the payment method and financial institution, but typically take 5-7 business days.

6. Modifications to Reservations

Guests can request modifications to their reservations, subject to host approval. If a modification results in a higher price, the guest will be charged the difference. If it results in a lower price, the difference will be refunded according to the applicable cancellation policy.

7. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute regarding a cancellation or refund, both parties should first attempt to resolve the issue through Outrnr's messaging system. If a resolution cannot be reached, either party may escalate the issue to Outrnr's customer support team for mediation.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. We encourage users to review this policy periodically.
